This is a design i entered for a contest, but then again lost however this became one of my favorite designs of mine. As usual, the contest required for a generator description, and i got this as base:
"This goddess of luck takes the form of an adult woman. She is tall and has a thin build. She has olive-green hair worn in a style that resembles a seashell. Her round eyes are emerald. She has yellow skin. Her outfit is that of an artist. She carries a watch. She has two hands at the end of each arm. She can bestow or take good fortune."
I dunno if i got the description precisely, but IMO i did. XD As an avid fan of symbolism, i've included some in this piece which are as follows:
- Tresue, when jumbled results to "Suerte" or luck in the Filipino dialect (which i think is the same with Spanish ).
- Both pairs of hands signifies some words that can be associated with Luck. Right being: "OK" and "Bad" and the Left being: "Close" and "Open".
- the design on the middle of her chest, is the 4 leaf clover.
- the overall design inspiration is Chinese, whom (i think) believes and does rituals regarding to luck.
I hope ye enjoy as much as i did this piece. A bit late, but better than never nya?.
Ahhh... astig nito, pare XD I love hidden symbolisms... astig ng shading.. like how you showed the form of the hands and pretty much everything without depending much on the lineart ^^ The folds in her dress are particularly impressive o.o and the background.. lalo tuloy gumanda XD
Lolol, that opening line was quite energetic of ye. I'm not used to it. haha. Anyway, thanks i'm not really that good on the line art department so i just thought, "Well, coloring would fix the gripes out of the line art..". Haha. So dependent. Anyway, good to see you around again.
what's that na hinahawakan niya sa isang arm?
Eniwei - pansin ko talaga yung shading sa damit, pati sa pagkagawa mo sa kanya (symbolisms and all). Ganda ng concept.
