Entry for 's "Dress the Mascot: Filipino Style" contest [LINK]
Instead of customizing the french maid costume that the original design had i incorporated old Filipino motifs on it and made it stand out more than the french maid costume. Almost all of the design ideas i did for this piece was inspired by the Noli me Tangere book that we used back in High School and some random memory of traditional filipino costumes . I liked Noli me Tangere so much and i'm happy that i made use of it for something non-school related and something that i enjoy doing.
The process for this wasn't a walk in the park at all, there are things that hindered the process and some sudden crappy happenings. Doing lineart with a Graphire 4 is HELL... specially when you're working on a big resolution. I also intended to color this on a different style but i ended up using simple cel shading due to time constraints. Due to that time constraints, i have to rush this to 2 days. And i ended up having some mishap with our motorbike. This turn of events was totally irritating.
Oh well, Enjoy. (I hope i made it time... )
P.S. Globelines Broadband, PLZ DIE for your crappy service and breaking down on important occassions.
Ohh, I love it! I think the concept of the outfit is really cool, and I love the sleeves~ The lighting looks so dramatic! You did a really nice job on this one. :3
